DartHeart's Growing!
We were recently interviewed by the Dartmouth newspaper about our plans for expansion in the fall. After many months of planning and fine-tuning, our peer support network has developed into a generational and customizable grassroots model that we believe will benefit student survivors at many campuses.
Alumni who participated in DartHeart as students at Dartmouth will be directing new campus groups at UPenn and Harvard. Meanwhile, two recent members, a current Brown student and alumna, will also be gearing up in the next few weeks to meet with survivors at Brown and Columbia.

So how does it work?
CUSTOMIZED As students join an existing group in the network, for instance at Dartmouth or Brown, they are able to customize the group meetings and community mentorship to fit the needs of their campus culture. We realize that while many survivors share similar struggles in recovery, our campus/community resources may certainly vary as well as the challenges posed as we work towards improvement so customization should make community mentorship as effective as possible.
GENERATIONAL
When an undergraduate network member graduates or an alumni joins, if they are interested in expanding DartHeart's network to a new location, the alumni survivor simply expresses his/her interest, meets the requirements to be a campus director, and then rallies with rest of the DartHeart team for support in starting a new campus group.
