Resources & Opportunities

DartHeart provides resources and support to give student survivors of trauma the opportunity to work together and build new community relationships. Since our network is comprised of student and alumni survivors, the variety and success of the resources and opportunities DartHeart is able to provide is a direct reflection of the dedicated involvement of our current members. Being in DartHeart's Peer Support Network is as much about what you contribute as it is about how you benefit.

Just Some of Your Opportunities!

Join (or start!) a Campus Group We believe that branching out from a traditional support group model lends itself to better recovery for survivors. Our Campus Groups get together for alternative meetings such as chatting over coffee or lunch, hiking, and going to the gym or movies because these types of activities with the company of other survivors have proven very effective in the recovery process. Currently, there are DartHeart Campus Groups at Dartmouth, Brown, UPenn, and Harvard, but we're always excited about starting new groups.

Become a mentor in our HOPE Mentorship Program Within each Campus Group is a Hope Mentorship Program. Through this program, DartHeart is able to provide survivors with resources like gift certificates for meals and schedule meetings so survivors can get together with each other and offer mutual support and mentorship on PTSD issues. During mentorship meetings, surivors also develop ways to mentor their communities about the realities of life after trauma through events like classroom discussions, campus organization outreach, awareness fundraisers or any other ideas for mentorship you might have!

Sign up and participate in Forums To expand our peer support network, DartHeart offers a virtual, closed social network. DartHeart is unique in our ability to stay connected regardless of location making DartHeart a very mobile solution to a student's active lifestyle. We are committed to our vision of connecting student survivors of post traumatic stress currently attending college with alumni survivors via our virtual network. You're able to sign up for our website to post private forum topics, comment on blogs, and expand the peer support network virtually.
